This is my first pair of studio monitors ever, previously I have been mixing on hi-fi speakers, hence I cannot compare it other studio monitors. But here are my general impressions:
I find the sound very clean, pleasant and balanced. Much more detail is revealed for me in the midrange now, so it is easier to mix.
Very useful feature is the switches for the low/high freq + room compensation. This makes it easy to tune the sound of the speakers to your taste and your room.
The 'auto' power mode should make it unnecessary to switch on/off the speakers as they would operate when there is a signal coming in. However this feature is not working reliably for me. Most often the one or both speakers switch off even though there is signal coming in. So instead I leave the back switch on 'on' setting and turn off the speaker with the switch on the top. This gives an audible clicking sound, if that is disturbing the back switch can also be used to turn off the speaker and this gives no sound at all.
Overall I find this monitor is a great value for money and I would recommend it to anybody who has a restricted budget and is looking for a decent speaker.
