Exelent pedal for bluesey neck style sounds ....It is the opozite of a TS808 (compact bass and mids) ....
Jan Ray it is a low gain pedal ,very warm sounds ,lot of bass ,low mids ,bright hights....
It works wonderful by stacking two diferent style overdrives (jan ray+ts808 or jan ray+"marshall in a box" style pedal )

Phenomenal pedal! Not only as an overdrive but as an always on pedal too.Totally transforms my amplifier.Huge tone, clarity and some very well rounded gain.Pure class! I understand the ''fight'' for it's worth as it is expensive ,but in my opinion worths every penny! I own a lot overdrive and distortion pedals ,also expensive ones, but this is amazing!

Jan Ray - Thick, Warm, and Smooth Tones

I was looking for a light overdrive pedal - with a warm and full bottom end tone - that I could use as an always on. The Jan Ray nails that tone and I'm loving it. It really sounds fantastic. I don't think it will leave my board and I'm really happy with the purchase.

Great pedal

Really happy with this pedal. The sounds are great. The volume knob is really powerful like an amp is i.e. you can play at lowish gain and high volume and push your amp really well. EQ is also very powerful. Haven't found a bad sound on this one, it may be my new favourite pedal. Not sure if it's worth the price tag but I can tell you I'm really happy with the purchase and it is one of the best builds I've seen. The trim pot for the level of saturation is super handy also and can make this fit easily into any rig both as a booster and as a main overdrive, and this feature alone may be worth the price tag for you.
