Rovner Versa V-1RVS Soprano Saxophone

Ligatures make a surprising difference to playability and tone, this one is my favourites and was my choice of Ligature when taking my diploma. Provides the same benefits as the basic Rovner ligature; ease of response and evenness across the range of the instrument, but with a brighter and more focussed sound than you can achieve with a basic fabric ligature. In my opinion this is slightly better than the Vandoren Optimum ligature, but both are excellent choices. There are lots of options to fine tune the sound - the different inserts make surprising difference. The only caveat I would offer is that you need to be careful not to scratch the table of the mouthpiece if you put it on wthout a reed and if the metal pressure plate is uncovered.
