Great tabletop frame for rackmount equipment
It does what you expect, with K&M durability.
Assembly was simple, but I needed to apply more force than I'm comfortable with. Now that it's set up, though, I expect to bequeath it to somebody in my will.
Cage-nuts are supplied and work nicely. If you're not experienced with them expect to lose some skin and swear a lot the first few times you use them. Needle-nosed pliers can help. However, once they're installed, you can balance a rackmount device with one hand while twirling screws with the other, so overall they make life much easier.
As others have noted, there's a ninth set of mounting holes, so if you have a shallow device, you can mount it right at the bottom and get that extra bit of value from the rack.

Simple and space saving.
It's actually 9U!
I suppose it states 8U because of its inclination, which makes the first unit at the bottom impossible to use with any equipment of more than 15cm depth.
This said I use all 9U, placing Doepfer's MAQ16/3 (only 10cm deep) at the bottom.
Very good for a light, metal only desk rack.
The design is simple and functional. You see nothing more than the equipment, and you see all of it.. front, back and sides

Very nice!
Build quality is very good. Extremely sturdy frame and stable even with no equipment mounted on it. Mine was slightly askew (by a millimeter, not more) on its own but quickly squared as soon as I mounted my first rack.
Nuts and bolts are supplied with the product.
Excellent product especially, if like me, you need access to the back of your 19" units. And an 8 unit rack for the going price is, well, sublime!

Well built
Bought this to place my Behringer 2600 better on table.
It is very high quality and stable like most of the K&M products.
2600 synth fits very well on it and i highly recommend it.
Only thing to point out that the feet are longer than they seem on the photo and it take a quite a lot of room on the table. I am sure the long feet are very important feature for deeper rackmountable products, but for 2600 they seemed too long. So i needed to cut them to smaller size to fit 2600 better. Now 2600 take half of the space on table. Angle is also very good and comfortable to use.

Best 19" Table / Desk Rack
K&M 40900 is a rock solid, truly built to last 19" table rack. This is my second one (the first one was purchased back in 2011). It feels very high quality. Love that also comes with screws and uses cage nuts instead of drilled holes on the rack.
Note that even though it is a 9U rack, it is listed as 8U because in order to use the lowest 1U requires a short depth of the device being mounted (otherwise the back of the device will hit the table).
Personally I highly recommend the K&M 40900 !

Stands firmly on my desk, looks great, easy to set up. When you look at it, it gives the impression that it will last forever. Compared to other racks I had in the past this appears to be the most sturdy.

Simple and effective
Simple and effective, solid. Access for the nuts difficult - make sure you install the nuts before loading up your rack gear!
Mine came with no nuts - don't know if that was an error. Had to purchase nuts separately.
Had to trim the legs, as they were too deep for my desk. Hacksaw job, phial to smooth off rough edges, no probs.. could just about fit the plastic end points back on afterwards..
