These pickups are amazing.
Very easy to install them into the guitar, that was the first time when I tried something like this, and it took 1,5 hours.
The plug in parts just so handy and confortable, exspecially with the attached diagram for the wiring.
The sound of the guitar has changed completly. I can feel every single note clearly, and it gives a massive tone and full of body in every level, exspecially in the mid range. Playing rithm or solos, not a bother. I can also use the guitar for another style of music, like blues, rock&roll, heavy metal...ect.
They're in an Llt Ec-50, which is not a great guitar, but since I have these set, I really like it, and I'm just going to buy another set into my another guitar.
I had passive pickups originally, and I was worring about the noise, what everyone saying about the active sets.
I still don't know what the others talking about, 'cause there is no noise at all with the het set.

The sound and feel 18 year old you was looking for.
I bought these pickups to replace the stock epiphone humbuckers in my SG pro G400. I like the pickups that were in that guitar but with the style of music I am playing, I found that they did't cut through or even hold a compressed volume level similar to that of my EMG equipped Telecaster (EMG 81 in the bridge, single pup). Installation was simple and painless, only thing I had trouble with was finding t a space for the 9V battery, with a little creativity and some tape though, it sits in the cavity totally fine.
Would highly recommend these pickups to anyone who is getting into the world of heavy metal playing with high gain as these will offer a clean, even sound with a bit of a volume bump on any passive pickups that they may already be using. These also handle cleans amazingly and if you are recording through an amp sim, active pickups with their naturally more compressed signal actually work as great DI tracking options. I can also recommend these to anyone who wants to get themselves into the world of modding their instrument, this is a solder-less installation (if you opt for the EMG toggle switch as an extra, which is NOT included in the main package), it's a great way to make your instrument feel even more like a bespoke musicians tool.
If you are ordering these though - have a note of the length of your routes in the guitar itself, I ended up ordering these again (I know, fanboy) for my explorer and required the 15" battery connection cable as a secondary purchase, take a note of that and plan your instrument before purchasing these or any replacement electronics for your instrument.

Utterly fantastic
The bridge pickup has a mid frequency that just punches like Tyson on a driven amp. Clean it sounds almost Strat like with a load more output. Really defined, really clear. It won't forgive sloppy playing either.
The neck pickup sounds very fat, nearly muddy. But with a good bit of middle dialled in and the bass lowered, it makes for a really nice lead sound. Not over enamoured with it on the clean sound of my amp though.
Delivery was really quick. Ordered on Friday, bank holiday weekend, got here Wednesday morning. So in effect, 2/3 working days.

Great pickups with great instructions on how to install them
If you want to nail the JH / Metallica sound without buying one of his signature ESP guitars, this is the way. I put these into a Harley Benton EX-84 vintage white, and I love it.
They are quite high output, and grain-y. But please dont take it from me, there are demos on youtube.
Installation was easy, its all click and play pickup wise. I would reccomend you also purchase the EMG pickup switch, to avoid soldering if you don't want to or do not have the equipment. I soldered and it works great.
Would reccomend! Can't go wrong with these.

This pick-up set surprised me. Very good sound and clarity. Heavy at distortion, but, clean wise it's good. Not the best, but the best for its price.

These are awesome
I put these in an LP Harley Benton kit. The sound over the old pickups is great. Lots of sustain, attack, clarity etc.

I bought these pick ups to go in to my harley benton TE-40 and man do they have a great sound! I am completely in love with them.
The solderless system makes it very easy to install these pick ups. You get everything you need ( I decided to order a solderless toggle switch as well so I wouldn't need any soldering). There's also a wiring diagram included which is very clear and simple. It's a step by step guide to tone heaven :D
I really can not say a single bad thing about these pick ups: They're well made, easy to install, sound phenomenal and well they look great too!
I also want to mention the insanely quick delivery I experienced. Normally when I order from thomann it takes around 3-4 days to get from Germany to Belgium after the package left the warehouse. But in this case, I ordered on thursday morning and received them friday at 1 pm!

One of the bests out there!
I owned 2 different sets, an emg 81-60 for my ltd ec-1000 & seymour Duncan Blackouts for my Epiphone Explorer 1984. JHet surpass both of them by far!!! So much clarity, harmonics, depth but also very hot and full attack sound!!! So now both of my guitars have the Jhets. Everyone I know that has played them, soon after he installed them on his guitar!

Oh these are great...loads of power, crystal clear...exactly what it says on the box. Easy to set up, i love these pickups!!! Installed on a solid body PRS245 6 string; a lovely thick strong sound from the neck and a powerhouse of tine in the bridge....a must have for metallica fans.

Excellent metal pickups
Really great harmonics and clarity at all gain levels, I fitted these to my Ibanez gio rg and they sound perfect. Solderless fitting was easy as well, just read the instructions and take your time!
