I'm not an expert in chemicals but it does the job pretty well.
The cleaning process on the strings is effective, returning them into a smooth state perfect for playing.
Regarding the protection I cannot say, I'm lazy and forget my guitars for many weeks in a row and when I pick them up again they are just as nice to play as I left them...so I suppose it works.

Meh, Fast Fret is better
I`ve been using Fast Fret for a really long time and thought let?s try something else.
Pros: nice smell, a bottle lasts for a long time
Cons: I don`t hear and feel any difference after using it.
I like how the fast fret restores some brightness, high end and life in strings and also makes them smoother and faster to play. This one doesn`t do it. Also you have to pour it onto a somekind of fabric which is annoying.
Anyway I still believe in it`s ability to clean strings, so after a long gig when strings need a bit more maintenance i first use the dAndrea and then Fast Fret, for that extra "polish".

Really great
d'Andea's products are really good, they remind me of Fender cleaner! What i really like about this string cleaner is that it proper cleans and doesnt leave dirt on your string. It also has a very clear describtion!
Afther using it for a while, your strings will get rusty, afther all, strings aren't for a lifetime :-)

Good cleaner!
I use this a lot. Most of my guitars are not played often so I give the strings a good clean before storing them. Stops the corrosion and saves me a lot of money! My gig guitar strings get a clean after every gig. Makes them last a lot longer. Also feels better to play. Good stuff!

Extends the life of the strings
There is no unpleasant smell, it lasts for a long time. The only drawback: it is not convenient to pour on a rag.

Excellent string cleaner. It helps to keep the strings clear and beautiful. The only drawback is the inconvenient cover, it breaks not for the first time.

a nice product but....
It's a nice product, it's just a poor lubricant specially if you play in humid places and such...but it's really good as a cleaner and if don't sweat too much!

Cleans good but gave a "sticky" feeling to the strings
I compared this to the Fender Speed Slick. It obviously gives more bang for the buck, but is not as practical to carry and apply to the strings. It cleans well but gave a "sticky" feeling to the strings. Normally I would rate it lower, but this is probably very subjective and should depend on the hands and sweat type of the individual. Give it a try and compare with the other available products to see what suits you best.

Does the job well
Not a lot to say about this really. I used to use Fast Fret in the past so was expecting that slick feeling it leaves behind that promotes sliding about the neck with ease. This doesn't do that which is either good or bad depending on your preference however they seem to clean strings just fine which obviously increases string life which at the end of the day is what it's meant to do.
If you don't like that residue after using fast fret then give this stuff a go.
