So after many trials and back 2 back with Xone 96 i come to the conclusion that PX5 sounds much much better and defined.
Xone 96 internal soundcard with A/D D/A 32bit converters from AKM sounds lifeless and thick without definition in highs and mids also bloated bass is a problem in 96.
My phone with a 5€ JBL earbuds sounds cleaner and sharper in bass , mids and highs
For me, the key thing that stands out here is the quality of the sound and processing. The filter and EQ sound vibrant and rich, in the end PX5 sounds equal in all frequencies and the overall sound quality is stellar compared to 96.
PX5 is using Texas Instruments Burr-Brown A/D D/A 24bit converters.
Xone PX5 is my mixer of choice for a long time from now on.
Also 3 band total kill EQ sounds superb and is easier to mix on it.
I think Xone PX5 is a very underrated mixer.
