Excellent upgrade for S2 models for rock and blues
Great balance between bass and highs. Not ear piercing PAF tone. Super crisp and respond to your touch perfectly. Can handle a lot of gain but not a metal pickup. Coil split is ok (Coil split will never sound like a single coil in any pickup but this one has a useful sound). I have tried them only on PRS guitar.

Good, but not great...
Bought a set of the 57/08 treble and bass pickups as an upgrade to the pickups in my PRS SE Bernie Marsden. No wiring diagrams were supplied so had to search the internet to get the appropriate diagram. The pickup height screws supplied were too short, so I contacted PRS who sent out the correct screws. The pickups sound good, but not €478 good...

Best pickup set for me
For me PRS 57/08 pickups are the best ever. I had and still have a lot of pickups from several famous brands. However when I first tried 57/08 I was pleasantly surprised. So much articulation but also gainy, throaty and full with a lot of harmonics. Pickups with soul. Although they are alnico 2 pickups they are not very low output. They are in a such sweet spot that you can use both for blues and metal in success. Treble pickup (bridge) is sounding a bit more gainy and louder compared to bass (neck) pickup, not as rounded as the neck. But this is expected. Still it is very complete sounding pickup.
