Useless on my 18"
If this thing was only meant for 22" or 24" kick drums, it should have said so in the description. But the manufacturer (Kickport Int. LLC) doesn't mention drum diameter at all.
Their claim it ads punch and low end is completely false, in my experience.
Moreover, the rubber collar mentioned in description and user manual was not included in the package. Instead some flimsy self adhesive foam tape stuff was on the port, supposedly to hold it in place in the resonant head.
Cutting a hole in the head improved the sound a bit to my taste, but adding the Kickport after that (i kept it in place by keeping the hole a few mm smaller than the ridge formed by the self adhesive foam, with some added gaffer tape that did not obstruct the port in any way) made no difference whatsoever. Nada.
A fake product if you ask me, and even if it would work, very poor quality to boot. I'd say it's beneath Thomann to sell this, plus the sound of my Pearl Export 18x16 is hard to improve (which seems like a good thing!). Also from this shop, so no flies on Thomann..

Kick Port Bass Drum Insert Booster
This is a great addition to any bass drum to add extra low end thump. The product works well, is easy to fit and makes a definite difference to the low end of my kick.
The only negative is that I have an internally mounted bass drum mic and I found it pretty tricky to get my hand in the right place to position it and to move my pillow around to the preferred position. It is however pretty quick to remove and replace.

Honestly, these feel a little overpriced.
The change in the acoustic sound isn’t that audible.
They definitely help the low and low-mids come out in live performances though, so if that’s what you need it for, go for it!

Great Sound
Have used a kickport on my bass drums for 10 years now and would never look back. These make your kick sound EPIC.

gimmick
i got one of these for my 24" gretsch bass drum to enhance low end punch. i found that once installed it flattened the sound and i didnt notice any improvement in bass frequencies.
a well tuned intact resonant head of good quality sounds better... but thats just my opinion.
just seems like an unecessary purchase.

Every drummers dream!
It really makes your bass drum sound obese, I have it on a 14" of my Sonor Martini and the difference between having it with and without the Kick port is like night and day.

Big Boost
Super happy with the boost on my bass drum.. makes lot of diference , it sounds bigger, better and looks beautiful..

It’s a taste thing. It does help create a more attacking, lower pitch. Worth trying.

We all need a kickport
In my opinion the kickport is a must for any kickdrum. Your drum will sound better after installing one.
Grab yourself a kickport, you deserve it!

Kick Port
My bass drum has never sounded sweeter.
I usually jump between high and low tuning a lot depending on what style I'm playing, and the kick port has added so much more dynamic to my overall sound.
From the highs, and mids, to the low tones, it accentuates, and gives an epic punch to every stroke of the bass drum.
I honestly don't know how I managed before it. Such a small, simple, piece of hard ware, that makes such a huge change to the overall projection, and quality of your bass drum.
If you use either a single kick, or a double kick, it will accentuate with ease, and you get no muffled sounds at all.
A must have for every drummer, and I will be recommending it to all my drummer friends.
