Tone Zone was a replacement for INF4 bridge pickup in an Ibanez RG331M(basswood+maple board). INF4 was quite good actually without any major problems but Dimarzio is much fuller and more clear. It has been described as boomy but not with my setup. Great pickup overall.

Dimarzio Tone Zone F spaced
Guitar - Ibanez JEM 7DBK
Bridge - Tone Zone F white
Middle - Tone Zone S white
Neck - Air Norton F white
Shadow Kill Pot and 500k push/push tone pot
My JEM 7DBK arrived with everything except the pickups and pickguard, something I requested as it was preowned from Ebay. I chose to custom wire it with a schematic from Dimarzio. The push/push pot activates the coil split function on all three pickups in positions 2,3 and 4 from the YM50 selector. The Shadow Kill pot allows for rhythmic tapping, creating some great phrases with a phaser or flanger. The Tone Zone is full of juice, it pairs great with the Tone Zone S and Air Norton, it's a crazy combination and gentle use of the volume and tone pots allow for some great tones. The Tone Zone is fast becoming my favourite pickup, not the ideal pickup for mahogany though, in alder and basswood, this thing smokes! I can see myself ordering more of these!
I believe Paul Gilbert had these in the neck position as well.. hmm.. I can see a guitar equipped with three Tone Zones on the horizon!
The Tone Zone and Air Norton F were bought from Thomann, quick delivery and a great price. I prefer Dimarzio to Seymour Duncan these days, roll on stocking custom colours Thomann!
