The sound is adequate, maybe a bit thin (the proximity effect wears off at about 2 cm) but suitable for many applications. We use it on tenor sax with good results.
Placement becomes key with this microphone, as it can sound on the thin side you must put it somewhere where the sound isn't too aggressive.
And there I found a bit of a flaw in the mechanics, the mic is put into position very easily, but so easily that it moves very easily out of position as well. Especially the rotation point at the clip rotates too easily. And for a position very close to the sound source (what this mic is meant for) a small shift can mean a huge difference in sound. I'll try tightening some screws a bit, but if that doesn't help the mic will find limited use.
Anyway, if mechanically sound, this mic is perfect for the occasional reinforcement of saxophones, and for the price, you can just have one lying around in case you would ever need it.
