The Sennheiser E-945 is a superb high quality live performance dynamic mic.
Pick-up - It has a super cardioid pickup pattern which helps reduce pick-up of sound from the sides which helps its high gain to feedback figures. What makes this mic so nice is that the off-axis drop off isn't too severe which allows the mic to be easily worked by the vocalist during performance. Some super cardioids have a severe drop off which makes them more difficult for the singer to work.
Build Quality - It is rugged and built like a tank. It could easily survive a few bumps and knocks. It also feels very comfortable in the hand with a good quality heaviness about it. It has a very luxurious looking black body with a fetching metallic blue grill.
Handling - Handling noise is excellently suppressed meaning this mic can be easily handled during performance without anything nasty being picked up.
Tone - Every voice is different so you might have a different view to me, but I found this mic flattering to my voice without it adding any colour. It's actually very difficult to describe, but it's a mic that gives confidence. It has a warm rich tone, while still being very clear and detailed.
Feedback Rejection - As previously stated this mic has a super cardioid pick up pattern which reduces sound pick up from the sides. This helps max gain to feedback if unwanted sound is coming from the sides, but will reduce gain before feedback if the mic is pointed directly to or directly away from unwanted sound. I've had no feedback problems at all with this mic at high sound pressure levels. It also cuts through a mix very well and doesn't need hours spent on eq.
Conclusion - Excellent microphone that offers excellent performance. It sounds great.
For further information, I bought a Shure SM58 at the same time to make a direct comparison and the Senni E945 is my preference, though I'm sure others might prefer the Shure.
