The many five star reviews make believe this could well be the holy grail. To my ears, for nylon string guitar it clearly isn't though.
The bad:
- the mic sounds boxy like any mic would when you put it in the soundhole (box). Other companies battle this effect involving two mics, using one to cancel out the boxyness.
- the mic sounds bass heavy like any mic that close to its source.
- the mic, so near its source will always be closer to certain strings which will ring out much louder.
- the 'longer' gooseneck is still quite short and protrudes from the side.
- the mic is overpriced, considering it's just a practical combination of relatively cheap hardware, without much added technology.
- the volume button is a bit clunky for a small device like this.
The good
- I read everywhere about the great service and customer care at Myers.
- the idea of a small preamp and gooseneck mic to quickly amplify multiple acoustic instruments.
