Works quite good
HenrikV 30.12.2014
I purchased this for studio use as I really love the Beyer M88 microphone for vocals. In live situations it doesn't matter because "pop" noises from vocals aren't that noticeable but in studio every little blowing in the microphone can be heard easily.
When I recieved the item I was pretty suprised because it is really big - this thing swallows half of the microphone. The foam layer is also pretty thick, but not very dense so it allows to the sound to go thru. Unfortunately some big "pop"s will also make it to the microphone but nowhere near as much as with random foam I had on the mic before. (Maybe it's something they can't improve without losing the transparency in tone so I'll give it 5 stars anyway.)
Big plus is that the foam sits nicely around the microphones grille and is secured with a tiny strap and a button.
Overall it is a good product - maybe just a bit pricey but you can feel the quality.

Effective and useful, if not the prettiest! Important protection for M88/M69

This is an important accessory to use with the M88TG. That mic is a useful alternative on kick drums inside the shell but the pressure wave is capable of damaging the diaphragm, unless you use this windshield. This is the one Beyerdynamic recommends, for good reason because it offers total protection to the head of the mic. For recording vocals you hear every pop and noise, this shield will reduce this problem to where you won't notice. It's big and bulky so it may look strange at first but its form follows its function - it gives the best performance and protection in those roles. Well worth owning if you use the M88 or M69. The reason I reduced one star is for the bulk which may make it difficult to handle, but it secures properly to the microphone and won't come loose
