We tested completely the FFC-1 DMX footswitch.
It does what it claims: send a DMX value (0 to 255) to adress number 1 or 2 or 3 or 4 when the foot switch is pressed.
- Specifications :
It has two DMX sockets (out=female): one with 3 pins and one with 5 pins.
It is powered by 230V, without a mains switch.
You have 4 little switches in the back to program the DMX output.
Switch "1" send a value of 255 on adress "1" when the switch is pressed.
SWitch "2" send (0/255) on adress "2", and so on.
Any combinaison of the four switches could be used at will.
- Very simple to program and to use (one switch !).
The switches are very little, you have to have a screwdriver and a good view.
- We tested the conformity to the official DMX standard and it conforms to it.
Break time = 113 us, MAB=3.5 us, each value of 11 bits (of 4 us) is 44 us.
The CPU is piloted by quartz, with a 16 bit microcontroller, so they use a Mercedes for piloting a switch !
- Low price. Solid chinese construction in plain metal.
- No mains switch but very low power. There is a removable fuse inside the primary (mains) circuit, only accessible by trained electronics technicians.
Conclusion: nice product for the price, if you need just a DMX switch.
It's the simplest DMX box we ever saw.
