Definite gem, splendid quality
I did a lot of homework to select an expression pedal to use with the new rig I'm building to replace everything I used until now... I have never used an expression pedal before.
I looked at different factors: size, construction, features, pedalboard real estate, and eliminated all the mini pedals right off the bat, because those are IMO unusable for precision work, ambient music, etc.
I checked all the usual trendy suspects, Morley, Ernie Ball, Source Audio, Mission Engineering. Lots of good stuff there, similar price range.
I had never heard of Lehle but it was my obvious final choice ( I should say I had to fight the urge to be trendy and get a Mission pedal just like everyone else and their grandma, and concentrated on getting what I thought would work best for me), and these are the reasons, in no specific order:
- this thing is built like a tank, one solid oomphy Schtück of metal (insert Henning's squeal here: "mettaaaallll");
- there are no mechanical pots or parts in the system that can wear out, break, crackle, etc, this should last a lifetime, at least;
- the foot surface is nice and big, but the footprint itself of the pedal is smaller than the others, shorter in length, but also very flat when folded/closed;
- interesting dual expression features and compatibility;
- made in Europe
- uuuuh... original..and it...looks interesting
There was essentially nothing to learn, just plug and play, which is perfect for an 80's cromag like me. I will use it to its full potential once I have my Quad Cortex and get rid of (almost) everything else, one day... soon....very soon... or not...augh. But yeah, this is a superior pedal, buy it now.
