Blackstar FLY 3 Extension Cabinet

I bought this to go with my Blackstar Fly 3 desktop amp.
I bought it as I was planning on using the fly 3 as a speaker for my iPod and laptop so reasoned that a second speaker would give me a stero spread.
The volume certainly increases compared to using the amp on its own, and it sounds good when using it as a music speaker. I found it was very good when using it with my laptop watching movies, certainly better than the computer speakers.
The only issue, just like the amp, is that it's quite a bulky item, and putting it in a bag along with the fly 3 amp takes up a lot of space.

It's built well, and survived a month of being shoved in and out of bags, indoors and outdoors it hasn't fallen apart.

The method of cable storage is quirky but I would rather have had a port to be able to connect a 4.5mm jack between this and the amp so you could choose you own length rather than that specified by Blackstar. Long term, it will be the cable that lets this speaker down as you can't replace it yourself.

I bought this extension speakers for my Fly 3 What I did not expect was a total transformation of the Fly 3. Not just a increase on volume but having full stereo from my backing tracks. The sound is far better than I imagined it would be. Excellent bottom end good punch from the mids and clean highs. I used my Gibson Les Paul and my USA Fender Stratocaster. With a little tweaking of the drive I got a very acceptable clean and driven rhythm and lead tone. I would have no hesitation in recommend this extension speakers. It will transform you Fly 3 amp. You will be just as surprised as I am. I also use it to listening to music from my phone when I am away from home.

The build quality is amazing and the sound is killer for its size. it helps make the original Blackstar fly feel more like a real amp and not just a mini or travel amp.

There is literally no point in using it on battery power though, I haven't actually tested it but from what I've been seeing if you're thinking about getting this you should definitely get the power supply, or you'll go broke buying batteries.

I kind of miss the fact that it doesn't have a jack input... that would have made it so much more versatile, but instead it has an ethernet type deal. I knew it before getting it but I still can't get over it
