Wireless audio for video
The XVive U5T2 is a digital wireless audio solution for video productions that comprises one U5 receiver, two U5 transmitters, and two LV1 lavalier microphones, and operates at radio frequencies between 2402MHz and 2458MHz in the 2.4GHz ISM band, which can be used without registration and free of charge worldwide. The U5T2 system boasts true diversity technology, six freely selectable radio channels, and practical output modes for reliable wireless audio transmission to a DSLR camera or an audio recorder, and ensures a high-quality sound thanks to 24-bit/48kHz conversion, a dynamic range of 99dB (mic mode), and a very wide frequency response. Alongside a windscreen, a microphone clip, and an audio cable for connecting the receiver to a camera, the scope of delivery also includes a carrying pouch, two USB charging cables, and three rechargeable lithium-ion batteries.
Receiver output modes
The U5 receiver allows signals from up to two U5 transmitters to be received and sent to a DSLR camera or an audio recorder via its stereo output. Users can choose from two output modes for signal transmission from the receiver to the recording device: In mono mode, the receiver combines the two transmitter signals into one and sends the same audio signal to the left and right output channels, and additionally allows the two output volumes (L/R) to be adjusted independently of each other, e.g. if a quieter signal is required in the event of clipping. In stereo mode, the receiver keeps the two transmitter signals separate and sends one individual signal each to the left and right output channels, which allows users to edit and mix the signals separately later on.
True diversity for a stable signal
The XVive U5T2 Wireless System is capable of transmitting microphone and line signals in high quality over a distance of up to 30.5m (100ft). The U5 dual-channel, true diversity receiver features two antennae for each channel, which ensures high signal stability even under difficult operating conditions and makes it the perfect solution for all types of livestreams, vlogs, and interviews. The built-in wireless technology enables the U5 transmitters to send signals to several U5 receivers simultaneously, so users can work with two video cameras or one DSLR camera and one audio recorder as a backup.
About Xvive Audio
Xvive Audio officially entered the market in 2012 with its compact U2 wireless guitar system. Since then, the company has also been involved in the development of wireless microphone technology. Its catalogue also includes effects pedals, such as the Signature Series, which were developed in partnership with guitarist Thomas Blug. The products are designed by an American team, based in Pasadena, California, which is composed of musicians and engineers and draws on decades of professional experience. Its lead designer, Howard Davies, was previously employed at Electro Harmonix and Pigtronix, among others. Xvive Audio's goal is to create products that deliver exceptional sound and build quality, while remaining affordable for any musician.
Power switch with hold function
The receiver and both transmitters feature a power switch with a hold function that prevents the level, channel, and mode settings from being accidentally changed during operation. The U5 receiver comprises a useful shoe mount adapter that allows it to be easily mounted on a DSLR camera, while the U5 transmitter can be securely attached to a belt in the conventional way via a robust belt clip. The LV1 omnidirectional lavalier microphones that are included in the set offer a well-balanced sound, high speech intelligibility, and operational reliability thanks to their locking 3.5mm connectors that prevent them from being unplugged by accident.
