Works fine, but soft soldering contacts
These work fine and are ok for the price. The metal soldering contacts inside the plug are very soft and bends easily - take care when putting these together.

Solid, metal construction, clamp is a bit weak
Solidly constructed with metal body and with a nice spring for strain relief. Easy enough to solder if you don't try threading the wire through the holes (I tried at first but I have no idea how you'd do it). I think the weakest part is the cable clamp. It's adequate, but some of the other connectors have much better clamps. Also on some of the jacks I received, the tip and ring tabs were sometimes quite bent and I had to bend them back. Not a big deal.

Simple and rock solid jack
All metal, rock solid. Easy to solder to make balanced or stereo connection.
Aside from its smaller 3.5mm version is way better in quality and impossible to ruin during overheating while soldering the lugs.

great budget sollution
Good for permanent installations that don't need switching plugs around that much.
Even better than rean-plugs; these have a conical protector on the cable side which rean-plugs don't.
