Once you set it up it stays there.
Let me start off with the one bad thing, this thing has a screw below the board that doesn't go anywhere. You can try to simply tighten the screw to create pressure for stability but it won't work. It's useless.
However, that doesn't actually affect the stand's stability.
Everything else works perfectly! It's very stable and very sturdy, I usually have 2 music books as well as my phone resting on it and it never moves or wobbles. It is quite large at the top though so keep that in mind.

Great cost benefit
I bought the Thomann stand 18 month ago and I am still very satisfied with it. The Thomann stand is easy to assemble and stable. I mainly use it at home so I can't judge how the usability during a concert is.
It should not be used as a tablet pc holder. Due to the weight distribution my tablet once overturned and fell to the floor. Fortunately it didn't break. In general the stand has no problems with weight and stability as I am using it daily with a quite big and heavy folder.
Compared to other products: This stand has definitely the best cost benefit ratio. Other products in the same price range I tested couldn't satisfy in stability.

OK for the price
For the price it is very good.
I put some extra weight in the legs, and it works fine.

Good for holding papers
It absolutely fulfills its purpose: holding papers.
However its construction is not robust at all and is not strong enough to hold something heavier such as a laptop. Specially because the top hinge is not centered under the plate, making it unbalanced when the plate is in horizonral position.

Good stand, but only for lighter goods!
Got this to place a small mixer on for my drum mics.
It arrived with a scratch down the back, but I didn't worry about this a no one would see it.
Really easy to set up and put together and works well.
However someone did touch the top of the stand and the flat top did spin over, dropping the mixer to the floor. The round knob which adjusts the tilt was tightened fully, but the pressure still tipped it.
Would thoroughly recommend for sheet music and books, but maybe not for mini mixers!
Being able to detach the top from the rest of the stand makes it very practical as well.

I've bought this stand primarily for home use, and therefore I am more than satisfied with it. The materials and build quality are good, height can be adjusted conveniently. Would totally recommend it as a value for money, though I'm not entirely confident in durability of moving parts, since I don't really readjust my stand frequently.

standing firm
good music stand:
- stable adjustable foot, even if you do not have a lot of surface to put it
- reading position suitable for any position
- perhaps a bit on the heavy side

Stable and useful
Extremely useful. Stability is not perfect as the head is a bit loose, but it works, and that's enough

Solid built but need serious QC
Unable to mount the desk as one of the "L" connector hole has a serious defect. It is likely damaged in the manufacturing process as all the coating still nicely intact. Since this carries Thomann brand, QC should be better.
Otherwise the material are very solid, steel use are thick, heavy.
Pending Thomann customer service to resolve this matter.
