Oh man...
Got tired of active pickups, so I thought I'd give this one a try. And I was pleasantly surprised.
The Pegasus packs a lot of punch and it's ideal for metal, but it also has a lot of tonal character (which I didn't find, personally, in the scooped tone of the Nazgul). It's got tons of bass but it's really rounded and it can be used for almost every genre. I've also installed a push-pull volume pot and with a split coil, it also gives good tones for slap and funky stuff !
This is an amazing high-output pickup. Would recommend it to anyone looking for a metal pickup but not looking to sacrifice tonal versatility or character.

High Gain goodness
I installed this in my Epiphone Black Beauty 3, and it has really tightened up this guitar for high gain tones. Whereas the stock pickups were muddy and obviously not suited for metal, these have transformed the guitar into a much more aggressive instrument.
This pickup is certainly much hotter than stock, and has also made cleaner tones have a much nicer breakup when the volume is cranked.
Great service and delivery times from Thomann as expected

This Pickup rules
The Seymour Duncan Pegasus is one of the best contemporary pickups on the market right now! Trust me, I've tried a lot of them, including boutique pickups.
I first tried the Pegasus in my Charvel So-Cal which came stock with a Duncan Distortion in the bridge position, a pickup that I really love. However, in the Charvel it sounded a bit fizzy and not as clear as I like it. After researching for a long time, I chose to give the Pegasus a try.
The sound from my Charvel with the Pegasus in it just blew me away. Such a sweet sound and so much clarity. The product description is spot on! It reminds me of the Duncan JB a bit, just without the mid spike. I have since gotten two more Pegasuses for my SGs. As a bonus, the matte blacke colour looks really cool too.
I've since checked lots of online communities. I haven't met a single person who had something bad to say about the Pegasus.
