Necessary but expensive.
I really like these, they do a great job of keeping my guitars in tune when paired with locking tuners. They are not particularly good-looking and are quite expensive for such little things but that didn't stop me from putting them on all my guitars that require string trees because they really are that good.
I used to have roller string trees on my guitars before but I find these much better and they do not require any lubrification.
Careful not to overtighten the screws, they can brake and, at this price, it's really not something you want to happen!

Does the job
Got these to replace the cheap pot-metal string trees on a Squier. They do the job fine, but they're a little bit rough and unfinished (visible seams, blobs of excess material, etc.). They can be cleaned up with some abrasive paper, but as there's no real need to change their size (as opposed to, say, a nut), it's a pity that GraphTech don't supply them with this already done. Still, it's not very visible on the headstock, and they do the job of managing the break angle on the higher strings.

Very sturdy
High quality and sturdy string trees.
Seems like they improved the tuning stability a bit.
On the bad side, they need to be cut precisely to the height needed, and that is difficult without precision tools.

The functionality is perfect, easy to install.
Cosmetically not perfect.
I recommend it to your telecaster.

Awesome string trees, with one major annoyance
These are great! Function-wise that is. But for some weird reason Graph Tech has ruined the possibility of producing probably the sleekest, least noticeable string trees ever with a simple mistake: these don't come with black, but metallic color screws! WHY OH WHY?!

Does its job well
I have a Squier Vintage Strat, nothing fancy. Exchanged the original string trees with these and it really made a difference in tone quality, for the better of course. For a strat with tremolo bridge, it's a "must have".
