Best low F string I've tried so far
I used this string to tune my 28" baritone for drop F tuning
The string has a clearly defined sound, not as metallic bright as fresh Kalium strings but it lasts as long as promised, about half a year, unlike competitor strings which go dead way sooner, with the exception of Optima strings, which is about the same.
Pro's
-Clearly defined sound, which has a rather of 'growling' character when distortion is added.
-lasts very long.
-flexible, easy to bend.
-less finger noise than any other low .080 guitar string I've tried so far.
Con's
-Muddy higher on the neck after a while (12th fret and higher after several months).
-Less initial brightness than some other string companies, but not muddy, just less metallic than for example Kalium strings.

Great as usual
I have nothing but good things to say about Elixir strings.
Purchased this for a 26.5" scale 8 string I have. It use to have an Ernie Ball .074 on, so this definitely improved the situation. Elixir strings to me are just magic, they last way longer, they feel way smoother and sound way crispier than any other brand. I just don't buy anything else anymore because when I did, I always ended up taking the strings off any guitar after just a couple days, I just can't stand any other brand anymore.
However specifically for an 8 string guitar, and this has got nothing to do with the string itself, it's just my opinion on a side subject, I feel a slightly thicker gauge would have been a better choice, maybe 90. Unfortunately for guitars Elixir only goes as high as 80, so I am probably gonna get a .090 bass string.
