Note for confused customers
The description is very unclear and AVID have made it near impossible to understand what you should buy because they are now thieves who are very disconnected from their customer base :)
Full respect to Thomann's support but they, too, are confused by what this product will give you, understandably.
In my case:
I owned ProTools 11HD (perpetual)
This gave me a new PERPETUAL Ultimate license and 12 months of upgrades.
Despite this being called PERPETUAL, after 12 months you will STILL need to pay to keep your subscription active but because you own a PERPETUAL license, it will be cheaper than if you didn't.
If you don't renew your subscription after 12 months, you can keep using your protools in a perpetual fashion, but are stuck with the last version that was available within your 12 month plan.
To get back on the updates subscription ladder you would need to buy in -again- and AVID have recently removed cheap upgrade paths for owners of perpetual licenses.
This Thomann deal is leftover stock from way back. Save £ loads.
This is the best and cheapest option I've found on the European side of the planet.
Good luck and you're welcome.

Pro Tools
I upgraded from Pro Tools 11HD, cause this product seems to be the last chance to upgrade your perpetual Pro Tools HD license. The new Pro Tools looks very promising including a lot of new features. I can highly recommend using this product to upgrade.

Good, without surprise
An expensive upgrade, with only one year of free updates, but we’ll… you know… it’s Avid.

Get It While You Can
Perfect worked like a dream have now upgraded my PT HD10 to PT Ultimate 2020.5. Very Happy
Important Note: Avid have discontinued the option to reinstate you Upgrade and support plan so the only option is to crossgrade to a subscription or to buy one of these from a reseller and Thomann are offering it at the best price I found

A must upgrade
If anyone is thinking of not updating to the latest protools I would suggest otherwise.
I updated from version 12 to 2019 and the difference is very large. New features, atmos mixing lots of great post production features and the list goes on. The system feels more responsive, and also this update helps with CPU usage too!
Also it is a better price than purchasing from Avid.
