Very solid stand
It does a very good job as a stand, it doesn't rock around, it is actually very sturdy. It has multiple width adjustment, and the guitar stay up pretty straight, doesn't tilt back a lot, which is great if you want for ex. to put the stand as close to a wall as you need. The guitar headstock will not touch the wall, not even the very tilted back headstock angle of my Les Paul, so that's a nice touch.
The guarding material looks alright, not premium but definitely not cheap, we'll see with time if it indeed protects the nitro finish in the long term, there's no way to tell right now.
But so far, I'm happy with my purchase.

Excellent quality, highly recommended!
With the exception of some of their cheapest products K&M normally delivers superb quality so I had very high expectations for this guitar stand. I was not disappointed. This is pretty much as good as it gets. Sure, you can find cheaper stands that LOOK similar but they are nowhere near this quality.
Build quality is superb. Stability is excellent. The white rubber protection won't cause discoloration to light/sensitive finishes. This stand will offer as much protection as you can reasonably expect from a guitar stand.
This stand will last you a lifetime and is actually much better value than the cheaper options that will fall apart sooner rather than later. It is also far more stable than most other designs out there.

Just the thing for your nitro lacquer guitars
Low profile, well made, nitro-friendly stand at a reasonable price. Worth the cost. I?ve bought several, which is a definite recommendation.

Portable, handy and stable - a reliable tool
Although I have other K&M Heli Cork models for my individual acoustic and electric guitars at home, along with my 17534 Guardian Translucent rack, I find the 17540 to be more suited to going with me, due to its materials and durability.
It is adequately stable, but not excessively stable. I find it grips my instruments well, but perhaps too well at times, as it can be awkward removing some of them.
Nevertheless, I have not found a better unit to take along and trust my electric guitars to.

unexpectedly qualitative thing

Perfect fit for semi-electric
A solid and simple stand, well finished and fitted my Sheraton perfectly. I'm using the widest setting, but you can make it narrower to fit a small body guitar, like a SG or Les Paul. Will definitely buy the same again for other guitars.

It fits my stratocaster very well, i use it with the next hole because the first one it's just too large.
