Not an ordinary drum key
Hello drummers! Why write a review on just a drum key? Well, it could be the case if this was JUST a drum key, but it's actually something more. Let me explain: have you ever had that feeling of fatigue in your hands caused by straight and rigid keys that have no eye for ergonomics? Maybe sometimes you have tried to finger-tighten your tension rods that were just so unforgiving and hard to turn with bare hands. Now, Tama has come with a drum key designed to be the perfect companion for both the seasoned and the casual drummer. The Tama TDK10 Tuning Key is conceived with all the above in mind: a lightweight, mass-saving, ergonomic & modern design that won't run out of fashion quickly, in a light, yet sturdy body of stainless steel that can be carried around easily to be ready for the job. The key features also a useful knurled knob on top for quick, easy spinning and fine-tuning, and an overall attention to details that is usually paid in top-class items of this kind. The price policy is the same as for other items by Tama and the choice to make such a vital tool available at such a price will yield its harvest. Go check it out: you won't be disappointed!

Great design
Bought this as Thomann had sold out of the basic model. Was very happy to find that it is truly brilliant. Now this is the only key I use to tune my drums. The finger tight stage has never been easier. Love this would definitely recommend.

Best drum key I've ever used
By far the best drum key I have ever used.
Makes it a breeze to get lugs to fingertight quickly and without effort.
Removing lugs to change heads is also a lot easier.
Quality is excellent, no wear on the part that "grabs" the lug, even after extended and rather forceful use, something I've unfortunately experienced with other keys made of cheaper materials.
Highly recommended!

Favourite tuning key out there
I have several of these, and find them very handy for quick tuning when time is limited before a jam / during a quick change over at a gig.
By loosening all tension rods, then re-tightening them in the usual order whilst only gripping the knurled tip of the key until I cannot tighten them any more, I can achieve surprisingly even "finger tight" tension across the whole head. I can then tighten each rod in the usual way, by an equal amount, to get the drum to the desired pitch.
This method is obviously limited by the drum / lug quality, but can be handy when you don't have time / enough quiet to tune your kit accurately.

Very nice Tuning key
Advantage of this tuning key: it's heavier compared to 'normal' tuning keys, making it a bit easier to tune.
The key is also bigger (width) which makes it easier to feel how much tension you're applying (and also you can apply more power in case some nut is over-tightened)
Finally: I'm going to make a pendant from this tuning key because the shape is so beautiful.

Best design
This drum tunning key has very good ergonomic shape and attractive design. It has cylinder knob on the top of the key itself, making it easy to obtain ''finger tight'' starting position of tension rods when you start your drum tuning process. I buy two of these keys because I use this pair for quick tunning of snare drum and changing drum heads on drum set.
Cons!: There is warning on package that this product contain substances who can be harmful to reproductive health and could cause cancer, according to California Law and regulations. I believe this warning is due to chrome plating of the key. So I recoment only for short contact with skin and not to wear as a neckless. Otherwise I recommend this key in every aspect.

This key is the key
I use two of these keys on tour. If you need to tune a backline kit in sub par conditions, then these heavy keys are just what you need. The size and weight of the key allows you to adjust the tension precise and evenly. Using two of them speeds up this process. I managed to tune entire kits, top and bottom heads in around 20 minutes. Also changing snare heads goes way faster.
