Great dry snare sound - better than gels
Absolutely love this for my snare, definitely prefer it to moongels or tape. It provides the perfect amount of dampening of overtones without muffling the snare too much. Gives you a great clean sound, really easy to mic or record, as well as a less ringy noise in smaller venues. It's also great as a quick fix for terrible-sounding rehearsal space snares.
Apart from the change in sound, you don't notice it's there at all. I've had some problems with moongel flopping around or coming loose, but this ring just sits flat on your head and stays there. I also prefer the clean look of a transparent ring.

I have the set, 10 12 14, and 13 inch snare. These rings really bring out the mid range and lower frequencies of any drum, by removing the high frequencies, but still retaining good resonance. You do have to use care, because they are thin. Thomson has a good price on these, so replacement is not a problem. I have been gigging for three months with mine, no problems.

Useful and good price
I use this on my snare to get a muffled, but not too muffled sound that still has high frequencies. Sits flat and doesn't rattle against the rim. With this price it's a no-brainer. Easy and very fast to use. There is a sicnificant difference between 1", 1,5" and 2" versions, and I have them all. If they break some day I will order new ones.

It's plastic and it bends
Pros
Dampens the drum head evenly. On the snare I prefer the 2" wide version though.
Transparent so you can see the logo on your drum head.
Cons
Bends easily (my children like to take it off and wave it) so it doesn't sit flat any longer. I might attempt to fix the bends by applying something that weighs.
Taking it off (for instance for brushwork) and then putting it back on is inconvenient if there's not much space around.
As I'm growing more conscious about the environment, I would go for natural materials like cloth so wouldn't buy this again. Something handmade by my wife would also have a personal touch to it.

A must for every drummer
Not much to explain about these.
Use these and gel pads, experiment, sometimes you'll need the one, sometimes the other, sometimes both.
But you won't need to tape your skins anymore.

Inexpensive Sound Booster!
Love these. Use one (sometimes 2) on an LM402. They sound fantastic. There are no cons. They are fantastic. I would highly recommend them.

Just what was needed
I used the E-Ring on my snare drum in what seemed to be a difficult room, sound-wise.
The annoying overtone/s were immediately cut which was amazing for such a simple product. The ring is also very lightweight and so easy to fit or take off.
I've yet to find a really good way to protect them when not in use though.

Perfect if you know what are you doing
The impact to the sound is huge so ... I use it on my snare to get a focused sound with more body and less overtones. Its soft and very flexible so there is no way to jump from the head no matter how hard you play.
