Solid Plug, Worth the money!
I was soldering a good couple of XLR cables and adapters and needed
something that wasn't too expensive since I was on a budget. I didn't want to go too cheap either and settled on these Amphenol plugs.
Despite what people say, Neutrik is not always the way to go. I soldered both Neutrik and Amphenol plugs for different kinds of cables and have to admit that I
probably wasted some money on the appraised Neutrik quality. Don't get me wrong,
I could drive a truck over those Neutrik equipped cables, but I probably won't.
For normal use, that means studio and performance, Amphenol is more than enough. I mean it's a plug. It plugs. If it doesn't break in half when I pull it out and doesn't produce noise and solders well, it's all that I need. It goes well with thick and thin cables and the four seperate pieces have a tight grip on each other.
The internal cord grip is tight enough for the plug to be pulled out by the chord, without the cable seperating from the plug. Everything nice and secure there.
The plug itself is perfectly sized and won't wobble in the XLR port.
If you want a cable for life, get a Neutrik plug,
if you're not planning on using the cable as a climbing rope,
it's perfectly fine to just get some Amphenol plugs, they will also last
at least as long as your lifetime.

Inexpensive and solid connectors
I've been using these connectors on all my mic cables for 4 years or so. I look after my gear but i've never had one break or just stop working, not one. Some have been gigged 5 nights a week for years and they still work. Awesome.

Great XLR Plugs
I ordered 12 of these for a project. I use these to connect between an X32 rack and a splitter. They?re left pre installed, but haven?t given me any issues at all.

Super
I bought a few of these as a dubious purchase. I wasn't too sure if they were upto scratch but let me tell you they are great! I have been buying xlr plugs from Studiospares but these things are so much better. I found that when soldering to the studiospares plugs, the contacts became loose very quickly, so clearly the quality of the plastic is poor but I had no such bad luck with these puppies. Nothing moved/melted and they seem to be really good. Definitely worth a buy

Completely awesome plugs, not for standard cables though, as can't close the cover all the way - it's more suitable for multicores, since it can really hold tightly the cables of ess than 2mm!!!
Very easy to solder! Love it.

Great quality & value
These XLR-plugs are my personal favorite along side the Neutriks. They are sturdy, easy to solder and comes with good working strain relief. Some people might want to spend their money on more exotic connectors with gold plating but as far as I'm concerned; money is better spent on a higher quality cable. These will provide trouble free operation for years.
