Used this pickup to replace the original EMG HZ on my LTD Viper 301 and it was an incredible transformation in sound. The sound is clear and articulated and fits my taste exactly. Installation was quick and painless thanks to clear instructions and schematics. Paired up with the SD Invader in the bridge position it has given a lot of versatility to the guitar, which can now be used to play a different variety of styles.

improved my sound a lot. great pickups. they have quite a lot of power in the lows. maybe too much for some, but I like a warm guitar sound instead. matter of taste. but the quality is great

It is the pickup we all love

If I need to replace a neck pickup, then it's either this or a Jazz. I bought this to replace the active one on an LTD EC-1000T. Nice, crisp tone with a balanced output. It can do cleans, it can do overdriven tones, you name it. Great middle ground pickup that can do everything unless you need a very specific tone.

A
Led Zeppelin-esque / Slash type neck pickup
Anonymous 05.07.2016
I've installed this in an old Epiphone Les Paul and it conjured up Page and Slash pretty much instantly. It has a vintagey, woody sound, and sounds best (in my humble opinon) sunk into the body, almost under the pickup mounting ring (basically away from the strings).
