Great for outdoors, great balance. Recommended
I am a professional violinist and I needed this bow for outdoor gigs, and for venues that I wouldn't bring my expensive pernabuco bow. It's the first carbon bow that I play so I can't compare it with any other of it's kind.
The bow is very well made, extremely stiff and it has great balance. It's somewhat on the heavy side, and it got a little while for me to get used to it, because my wooden bow is super light, but from the first time I felt like I had great control. It is perfect for students, because it has no noticeable flaws that could hinder the development of right hand technique, which is common in low budget bows.
Soundwise, I took my a little more to get used to it, because the violin interacts in a different way with carbon bows than with wooden ones, but in no means the sound is worse than before, just different.
I haven't rehaired the bow, but you should be very careful if you try to do it because it can mess up the balance of your bow if the hair is not spread very very evenly and precisly.

***Updated ***it was a Lovely bow until it wasn't.
I been using this bow for 7 months now and I really love it. I still didn't change the hair so I can't rate that part yet but the bow in itself is fantastic and worth every penny.
****** update. After nearly 2 years and the first time I changed the hair unfortunately I have to update my review. I re haired my bow in September and it was great for 2 months, and then suddenly it stopped working:it doesn't tighten up anymore...even if I screw it all the way the hair are still loose and when I apply pressure the hair touch the carbon fiber. So I can't really play loud or give too much dynamic to the music. It's so frustrating, and now I need a new bow...
