Great sound i cant explain more, you need to hear it to understand.
I expected more from the built in attenuator, it dosnt quiet enough for me, and i have to lower the volume more than i want, so dont expect to start loading the amp...
Overall it is amazing and monster of an amp that has lot of headroom and sound amazing in clean. Very well made and very recommended

Goodness gracious great ball of fire.
Baldman 14.05.2021
The Engl Fireball 25 is an outstanding, versatile amplifier. It's design is intelligent, and well executed. This Fireball of an amp delivers crushing high gain metal tones at house, and apartment volumes. The power soak feature allows you to dial in the heavy, distorted tone that you want, and retain it at low wattage, and conversation volume. Even on the 1 watt setting it drives a Harley Benton 2x12 without any issues. The noise gate is a great feature, and it takes adjustments well. Though it can be aggressive, on it's max setting.

The tones. It's an Engl amp. It delivers outstanding overdriven almost 80s Metal tones with the clean gain turned up, and crushing distortion on the lead channel. It takes low, mid, and high output pick ups equally well, and truly makes them sing, be it clean, or dirty. Both the clean, and lead channels take pedals very well. I run an Empress Heavy in front of the amp, and it enhances both channels. The clean channel is also excellent.

If you want a fire breathing metal amp that you can play at home, or gig with, pick this amp up. You will not regret your choice.

I can't fault it :-)

Replaced (or rather supplemented) my Screamer 50 combo with this head + 2 x 12 v30 PRO cabinet, and this is just SO much sharper and more aggressive!

The mid boost brings added attack to the sound.
It is a little less "full" than the Screamer 50, but as previously noted; SO much sharper.
And being in the metal-ish genre, it's a no-brainer.

The powersoak also anice feature, though I think the noise gate would benefit from a slightly softer "knee".
But that's nit-picking.
The sound is HUUGE!

Versatile head for most styles of music
thanasisk 18.06.2024
Engl amps have quite a following in the metal circles. If you are a metal player, you do not need me to tell you that you do need some Engl in your life.

What is often overlooked however is how versatile this all-tube amp head is. Provided that you know what you are doing with the existing controls and you have the guitar to match your style, this amp will take you places. Add in a solid EQ pedal to the mix and effectively, you can play whatever you want.

The build quality of the amp and the features are top-notch. I usually do not give 5 stars across the board but, by Golly, this is a 5-star product if I ever saw one.
