Reeves 43M - alternative to Warburton
I use this mouthpiece to get a warm, fat sound that's more classical and slightly better tuned than a Warburton 4MD and less effort to play. Production between notes is very good on all Reeves mouthpieces - I notice the sharper inner rim on the Warburton afterwards. I also sold my 4MC top to keep this instead. Lovely blending sound with a good body. I also keep a 4SV/6 and 4M/7 in the case. The way a mouthpiece rim interacts with your lips and the backbore with the trumpet is totally individual and Thomanns trial period is ideal to experiment - I guarantee you won't like what I play! Unlike some other makers, this is worth the price for lathed silver plated brass.
