I bought this case for my daughter. She uses a rented cello from music school. Cello came with a soft bag and it so happened that she accidentally hit and damaged the cello bridge while carrying the bag. The repair was expensive and since the bag obviously didn't offer enough protection I decided to search for a cheap solution to potentially expensive problem.
Honestly this Cello Case was much more than have I hoped for:
- Case is ultra-light and has wheels, and she can handle it all by herself which is most important
- Styrofoam is hard and thick enough and offers more than enough protection.
- Outer finish is durable synthetic textile which does not add to the weight of the case
- There is a large pocket for sheets and notebooks for school on the outside of the case
- It has shoulder straps for easy carrying, and two handles for carrying or strolling on wheels
- Inside is nice deep blue synthetic velvet. It can store a cello with 2 bows and has a space for rosin cake
- Case closes with a zipper which tends to stuck, but this is I think the only downside I could find so far.
I definitely recommend this product. It is not so expensive that you would feel bad when your child outgrows the case. I don?t know if it has any resell value.
And yes, my daughter was thrilled when she got the case. She is much more enthusiastic about practicing :)
