I'm very satisfied with this MIDI cable. Have used it while performing for a few years consecutively and have had only one problem, which I will outline below.
As a band grows, the size of the venues they play at often grows as well. We started in cafes, worked our way up to small venues, and eventually started playing some shows at places where we actually had a bit of room to move around. Once that started happening, we discovered the need for a cable like this.
When your sound card is on one side of the stage and your midi controller is on the other, this is the easiest way to get them connected.
The cable itself is quite thin and can be taped down easily if needed, is barely noticeable on the stage when taped or routed correctly. The MIDI jacks on each end are solid and feel like they are of high quality.
The only issue I ever had with this cable was after a show where one end got stuck in a door jamb while I was walking through it. I was in a hurry, one end was hanging loose, and when it pulled tight it dragged me back forcefully. When I got home to test the cable, it no longer worked.
The WONDERFUL thing about this MIDI cable is that you can actually repair it! Everything is easily serviceable. I simply had to unscrew a screw on the end that was trapped in the door, slide it apart and resolder a cable that had been disconnected by the force I put it through.
It was a real relief. It's not that often that cables at this price point are repairable, and I'm very happy to have one like this in my gig bag. Reliable, and fixable on the off chance that it ever does break.
