This pedal has a warmth and impressive ability to modulate the signal without losing the guitar tone. It is is very different from the MXR Flanger & Chorus pedals - these seemed designed for slightly different purposes.
The stereo output, which can be fed into a TC MIMIC widens the output, creating studio level effects straight from your guitar pedals.
It really sounds like the 80's!
instantly recognizable sound that you heard in hundreds of albums from the 80's.
Not a dark sounding pedal. I'd say the sound is a bit sharp. I already have a bunch of warm/dark sounding pedals so I'll keep this for another flavour in the studio. I can imagine it being useful at some point for some side panned guitar line that needs a little sharpness and movement.
Compared stereo chorus of the black SCF and purple label SCF series (both 220v) with stereo chorus of the SCF Gold series (9v DC). A surprising difference in sound character and dynamics when tested with bass. The intensity control of the SCF Gold stereo chorus can be turned a fraction lower compared with the stereo chorus of the vintage black SCF and purple label SCF series.
The SCF is the classic modulation pedal. I have some other chorus pedal as The ce-2w , boss super chorus ,Walrus Julia and a few other. This is unique . My favorite now
