I have some cheaper XLR wires and you can even see the difference. The input button is well made, I'm not afraid that it might not hold well or break soon. Also, it's a bit thicker which makes me think that there is more shielding which is good if you have many objects that can interfere with it such as - wifi router, active monitors and so on. Better to pay double the price and have it for the rest of your life (even warranty is 5 years on this one) than have a cheaper option that might have some issues and then purchase another middle priced wire after 2-3 years
