As good as my more expensive drives!

I’ve had this Nobels ODR drive in my shopping basket for long time. Now I decided to pull the trigger and I’m glad I did! It’s as good as my more expensive Euphoria drive!

All the knobs are usable on this Nobels! That Spectrum knob is great and very usable across the sweep.

Those who complain about bass being too boomy “get a better amp!” or turn down that bass knob on the amp! To me this low end is perfect for my single coils Strat and Tele guitars! It’s such a fat and juicy overdrive! Can be used as a boost or a drive.

Totally happy! Stacks well with my Euphoria and Pantheon drives!

The price is totally a steal! Get it! Ney! Get two!

I only take one star off the "features" because I can see why the bigger brother version has the bass cut switch. It has a thump in the low end that is hard to shake off.

I put a tubescreamer in front (low gain, level and tone at about 1 o'clock) to cut said bass and push the mids to the front.

The result is a beautiful thick tone, full of harmonics and with a very amp-like response. It cleans up well in response to the volume knob. It palm mutes nicely (some of the more "fuzz" like distortion/overdrives won't do that).

"Natural" overdrive is the perfect name for it, it's like having tube amp overdrive in your pocket.

Good choice for single coils

Positive:
I am using Tele with single coils beside my Blues Junior 3, and I use this pedal to get a better and non-scratchy high gain sound. The result is very good. Blues Junior 3 owners know that if you stack overdrive pedals, then the amp sound gets very scratchy because of the amp speaker (which is actually designed for clean sounds :')

BUT, if you put Nobels after a tube screamer (guitar -> TS -> Nobels -> BJ3) that gives you a huge good hard rock sound. Strong low ends of this pedal make your bridge single coil as if it is humbucker, at the same time pedal cuts very high ends which eliminates scratchy distortion sound.

So, in my case that pedal works very good with my amp speaker to get a good high gain sound.

And the Spectrum knob is very versatile and unique to shape your sound for different genres, to be honest it is better than other pedals' "Tone" knobs. You need to see some videos which shows freq. change while rolling this knob.

Negative:
Strength is the weakness at the same time. Strong low ends are not good for neck position. Bigger version of this pedal has bass-cut feature which makes it better than mini version.

And the cheap quality knobs, I did not like them.

Amazing overdrive!

I think this is exceptionally versatile overdrive pedal, It can go from light crunch to nice medium thick overdrive, there is no bad setting on it.
I tried it with strat and tele through vox ac style amp and just sounds amazing. Build quality is decent taking in consideration the price tag.
It will definitely stay on my board.
