it surprised me, i was not expecting so much quality from this little known company known as fender, but it's frank zappa tengo una ...... tanta level of quality. Ao!
These Fender bridge covers really are luck of the draw. Some have a nasty ringing noise that will actually be heard when playing specific notes. I got this one to replace a particularly bad one. This one was very much middle-of-the-road. Not the worst I've heard but not the best either. I had to use a thin layer of foam UNDER the cover (between body and cove) to dampen the ringing.
It got slightly better than the old one but I really don't understand why Fender can't manufacture these to a higher consistency. Because some of the older ones I've got have far less ringing.
They look cool though, if that's the kind of vibe you're looking for. And there aren't really any better alternatives so I guess they're ok.
I was ordering some parts for a reissue I got recently and needed the covers. Perfect fit, high quality Fender original parts were the only way to go. Very happy with the quality and it keeps my Fender a Fender.
Adds a retro look to my bass. Been on the bass for a while now and showing no sign of tarnishing or discolouring. Screws are not supplied however, and I found it a little difficult to find screws of the right size and that match the appearance of screws already on the bass.
