This mixer is basically one of a kind, I have seen nothing like this from any other brand. It is basically like a stagebox and mixer in one. Put it in a shallow rack case and stick on the middle of the stage. It has everything needed for smaller gigs, where the requirements are not too high in terms of sound quality and features. The RX1202FX has OK sound, OK effects, 8 XLR inputs, 2 stereo inputs, tape in/out, main out, control out, and a single monitor output, as well as the possibility of using outboard effects.
Nowadays, there are many digital mixers in a similar format as the RX1202FX on the market. They have better sound, better effects, more inputs and outputs, virtually unlimited routing options, built in audio interface etc. The big difference is, that for controlling the mix on one of these, you need to use a laptop or a tablet, which might or might not be your thing. The RX1202FX uses knobs and faders (!), so you get the tactile feedback you are used to, if you come from analog mixers. And you can see and change the settings directly on the device, without looking at some screen, opening drop down menus etc.
It is not a high end mixer, but it fills a niche and costs very little.
