For clear reasons, I can use only two models of strings on my guitar. My current favorites are a different model - other brand, which use a slightly different gauge. They are quite expensive though. The other model that qualifies is this one.
I had acquired the Darco D930, along with a few other models, only to test out different brands, with a slight hope to find a more affordable alternative to my go to strings mentioned above. When I put these on, I was more than pleasantly surprised: exactly the tone I was looking at an accessible price!
The only difference between Darco and my main ones, which are more than twice as expensive, was that, at first, Darco felt a bit stiffer. Later on, I could not feel the other type as silky as initially, so it may have been a subjective experience.
These are quality strings made by a reputable manufacturer. I don't understand why they are so much more affordable than the competition, perhaps because they are made in Mexico and possibly nickel is cheaper there.
What I love about these strings is their smooth and balanced tone, the wound strings being clear and not overloading the signal.
