Great for its price
Long story short (detailed below): if you just want to get started and experiment with a nice overall DI or if you want one but just don't have the cash for a higher priced one, this little guy here can do a great job!
I gave it only 4 stars, because well, it's an entry level DI and of course it can't compete with something more pricey. But the quality you get for the money it's great!
I used it to track electric bass and guitar. The lowest I went was standard B tuning for 5 string bass and drop A for a 7 string guitar. With proper setup of the instruments, the DI did it ways job amazing.
It's not the clearest sounding one, but I've always used short cables, a subtle noise gate before the DI and ran the signal through an expander, compressor and EQ after it. The end result was better than I expected.
As a con, I'd say that by itself it's not crisp enough, but that's something that can be easily fixed.

Simplified DI Box with great tone
This does what it says on the box. It's a simplified DI box for guitar or bass with just the essential features. There aren't a myriad of buttons which purists may prefer. The tone is warm and clear. The unit is well built and made to last. It even comes with a 5 year warranty!

It is "only" a DI box
It does it`s job very well, I even get excellent feedback on the DI recordings wich is essential when I am Reamping guitartracks.
Palmer is hereforth my go to brand for guitar studioperhapsials until my income has increased, and even then I can imagine sticking woth palmer.

Great little box
The only qualm I have with this device is that it can be a little noisy when powered via phantom power. As such, it is better to use batteries when used in a recording setting.
For live use, powering via phantom power is perfectly fine.
The construction of this unit is great - really solid product.

Simple & Effective
I needed an active D.I. box and my luthier suggested this one. It's simple and straightforward to use and the sound is good. The 'link out' is handy in that it allows you to go into an amp, whilst using the 'balanced out' to go to the mixing desk or multi-track recorder...
Ground lift switch is handy too, as well as the -30db switch.
