OK practise reed
The Black Bamboo is OK practise reed, but won't do the thing for performing - the quality just doesn't carry. The reed works good until it just stops working, no warning.
The response overall is very good, it works immediately off-the-shelf and allows very silent pppp(p) performance but when reaching to higher notes with strong fff(f) the sound starts to 'buzz'.
If someone wants to try a 'plastic' reed this is good point to start with, but I recommend moving to the Legére as soon as possible.

black bamboo synthetic reed.
I found the sound 'raspy'. Quite responsive and I may have tried too soft a reed. I am unsure of how the strengthjs compare woth traditional bamboo reeeds. e.g. Vandoren blue box. I am playing the brown forestone synthetic reed rated at 3.5 and I like it a lot.
