You get what you paid for
onogio 16.09.2020
PROS:
-Very lightweight and comfortable;
-Decent quality for 30€, but do not expect "high quality" as I saw many people (and AKG) writing;
-2.5m cable, which could be a pro but also a con :D ;
-Decent bass for the price.
CONS:
-Very bad isolation;
-Really bad frequency response: highs totally messed up, mids with strange behavior;
-Consequentially, stereo image is pretty messed up;
-Materials do not feel like solid, balanced or strong - they're still acceptable for price range.

I am a master's degree student in electroacoustic composition, ergo: not an expert but not just an enthusiast.
I have to say my recent headphones have been AKG702 and Beyerdynamic 990 PRO, also in these days I am listening in a very great studio (well treated - enormous Genelecs), so my standards may be strongly influenced by this.

So, these headphones are pretty much ok for the money you're about to spend. But do NOT expect a decent isolation, a reasonably fair frequency response, a nice stereo image.

I just thought this pair of headphones would have been something better. Unfortunately it does not satisfy me, so I will send it back.

Very good, cheap and a good first choice for a home studio
Lamda3c 23.04.2023
It's a very good pair of headphones. Weightless, comfortable and kinda worth for first home studio choice. Meanwhile, as a backup pair, taking the seat of my favourite DT 770, it's good. Its good for its price.
Also i was thinking if this is a quality pair of headphones for a home studio. Yeah ok it is. When I first unboxed it, I saw and felt the low quality plastic materials, but, once again, for its price it's good.
Now the sound. Ok they have kinda lovely sound, flat, but not almost flat. Something like when you adjust the volume of the audio interface starts a beat peaking before the peak level. Is the reason for that the ohms? - I don't think so.
The type of the product, I'm 100% sure is not closed.
Volume knob 30% - everyone in my room can hear what I hear.
Volume knob 50% - everyone in the next two rooms can hear what I hear.
If move them upon my head, lay them on the desk, move from room to my hall, I still hear them. So I think this item it's worth to start from a cheap pair of headphones, but not as described.

Works for me, but surprising ear cup and head band cushion fail
David B-G 04.08.2024
I do not have much of a reference for the audio quality as theae are the best headphones I bave owned. I use these close backed AKGs for monitoring while recording and open backed for editing and mastering. I have used these AKG-52 exclusivley for monitoriing my own voice during audiobook recording, Estimated use is about 1200 hours over four year in total - not continuous daily use..I bought them in August 2020 (so four years for this particular set). I am very happy, with the audio detail, and comfort while I am speaking, and so the value is certainly there. I can hear all the errors and details like mouth clicks that are difficult to remove in post, so they helped me develop my technique. With a powerful headphone amp cranked up to the point I can hear the noise floor in the voice, they then start to feedback - but set at the right level to hear only the voice, they have no impact on the recording, Also they did not make any noise that the mic picked up, They fit very well and I was not conscious of wearing them while performing. . I originally used them with the Steinberg UR12 and even with headphone volume at full they were too quiet, so ultimately that was a contributing factor in my upgrading to an all round more powerful audio interface and they worked well. The reason I am writing this review now after four years is one month ago most of the plastic covering on the ear pads came off onto my head and the headband starting behaving strangey and went limp. I was looking for replacement ear pads on Thimann and it prompted for a review…. but I have not found any replacement pads, they are not listed. Then I realiswd how little I paid for these to begin with and was surprised to see I had bought them in 2020.
